All forms of yoga will enhance one’s quality of life. The western trend of yoga fallows a more physical path to increase one’s health. Most styles will focus on asanas. These postures will help rid the body of toxins, poisons, and imbalance. Mentally when the spine and vertebrae are aligned, the mind is free to concentrate and meditate without distraction, and the subtle energies of the body are awakened and accessed first through the spine then distributed through the nervous system and finally into and between the cells. The purpose is not to have perfect posture, the focus in the practice of asana is to rid the body and mind of blockages to allow us to transcend the body’s limitations thus creating freedom to live a richer fuller life.
